Pranya Priya, a student of Delhi Public School, Ranchi, who secured 99.6% to emerge as the city topper, speaks to Shikha Yadav. Excerpts: How do you feel about this achievement?I’m happy and grateful. Scoring 498 out of 500 feels like a dream come true. I had expected good marks, but this was beyond my expectations. It’s a result of consistent effort and the constant encouragement from my teachers and parents. What was your preparation strategy? I focused on clarity of concepts rather than rote learning. I maintained a fixed study schedule and revised regularly. Solving sample papers and previous years’ questions helped me a lot. I also made short notes for quick revision before exams, which proved very useful. You scored full marks in science, Sanskrit and AI. What helped you excel in these subjects? For science, I ensured I understood every concept deeply and practised numerical regularly. Regular writing practice and grammar clarity were key in Sanskrit. AI required logical thinking, so I practised applications and case-based questions. My teachers guided me. What are your future plans and message for other students? Being a doctor’s daughter, I have always been inspired to pursue medicine. I am currently preparing for NEET and hope to build a career in the medical field. My message to students is to stay disciplined, believe in yourself, and never hesitate to ask for help. Consistency and a positive mindset make all the difference.
