HSGMC president Jagdish Singh Jhinda addresses Qaumi Insaaf Morcha

Kurukshetra: The Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) on Friday organised an Ardas (Sikh prayer) at Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Chhevin, Kurukshetra, seeking the release of Sikh prisoners who have completed their sentences but continue to remain lodged in different jails across the country. HSGMC president Jagdish Singh Jhinda and executive committee members attended the Ardas ceremony and collectively prayed for the release of the prisoners.Addressing the gathering, Jhinda suggested that the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha should launch a “Jail Bharo Andolan” to press for the release of Sikh prisoners. He assured that if the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha gave a call for the agitation, the HSGMC would be the first to offer arrests in Kurukshetra. He said the committee would participate in the struggle for the release of the prisoners.Jhinda said the Sikh community should remain united and raise its voice through peaceful and democratic means. He termed the continued detention of Sikh prisoners even after completion of their sentences “ unfortunate”. He further said that he would soon visit the Qaumi Insaaf Morcha in Mohali along with all HSGMC members to hold discussions on the future strategy regarding the issue.
