Jhansi: On the second day of his two-day visit to Jhansi and Lalitpur,state industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ on Mondayinspected the under-construction Bulk Drug Pharma Park at Saidpur villagein Lalitpur district and said the ambitious project would transform theindustrial landscape of Bundelkhand while creating thousands of employmentopportunities for local youth.The minister accompanied by additional chief secretary for infrastructureand industrial development Alok Kumar, visited the project site. During the inspection,the officials reviewed the project model and site map and directedauthorities to expedite construction work and speed up the allotment ofindustrial plots.Addressing officials during the review meeting, Nandi said previousgovernments had neglected Bundelkhand by considering it a backward anddifficult region, but under the leadership of PM Narendra Modiand CM Yogi Adityanath, the double-engine government had givennew momentum to industrial growth in the region through the BundelkhandIndustrial Development Authority (BIDA).He said the government had developed the Pharma Park in Lalitpur to attractmajor national and international pharmaceutical companies, which would opennew avenues for local youth, farmers and entrepreneurs. Headded that the people of Bundelkhand were witnessing rapid development inthe region and the coming years would bring significant economic progress.Expressing satisfaction over the pace of ongoing works, the ministerinstructed officials to complete all development activities within thestipulated timeframe. He said the pharma park would not only establishUttar Pradesh as a pharmaceutical manufacturing hub but would also createlarge-scale employment opportunities at the local level. He furtherdirected officials to initiate acquisition of additional land for thefuture expansion of the project. Theproject is being executed by UPSIDA on a war footing .Authorities said industrial companies had already started showing interestin investing in the project during its first phase and five industrialplots had already been allotted. Officials of UPSIDA informed that development work in the first phase isbeing carried out over 352.91 acres with an investment of Rs 109.98 crore.Infrastructure facilities including roads, firefighting buildings,administrative buildings, entry gates, landscaping and boundary walls arecurrently under construction and are expected to be completed by December2026. During the inspection, the minister and senior officials also plantedsaplings within the Pharma Park premises and stressed the importance ofmaintaining environmental balance alongside industrial development.
