Palanpur: An assistant engineer of Prantij municipality in Sabarkantha was caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for demanding a bribe in setting up water ATMs.ACB officials said that the accused, Rajdeepsinh Chavda, demanded a bribe from the complainant, who had built two water ATMs after getting the tender. When he went to the engineer’s office in Karmayogi Bhawan to get his bills approved, Chavda allegedly demanded Rs 45,000 for approving them.Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB, whose Gandhinagar unit, comprising VB Patel and Haresh Mewada, laid the trap and caught Chavda accepting the cash.
