Chennai: Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) are calling for applications for the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026, which is a mandatory test for admission to undergraduate programmes offered across all IISER campuses for 2026–27. The test is scheduled for June 7, and candidates can apply from March 5.Candidates seeking admission to the IISERs, including those in Berhampur, Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram and Tirupati, are encouraged to register for the test by visiting the official website, https://www.iiseradmission.in/, which will also provide details on examination centres.Candidates who passed Class XII/equivalent examination or a minimum three-year diploma programme in the science stream (in 2024, 2025 or 2026) with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate (55% for SC/ST/PWD) are eligible to apply. They must have studied at least three subjects among biology, chemistry, maths and physics. Maths is mandatory for programmes such as BS-MS Computational and Data Sciences at IISER Kolkata, B Tech/BS Economic Sciences at IISER Bhopal, and BS Economic and Statistical Sciences at IISER Tirupati. IISERs boast strong placement records, with graduates securing roles at top global firms, research institutions and PhD programmes worldwide.
