GURGAON: A 22-year-old woman was found hanging from a ceiling fan at a paying guest accommodation in Islampur village, with her mother alleging that her live-in partner had murdered her, police said.The deceased, identified as Tanisha, was a resident of Jalalpur village in Uttar Pradesh’s Etah district. She had been in a live-in relationship with Chetan Sharma, also from Etah, and the two had been friends for several years. They were living together at the PG in Sector 38.According to police, Sharma said he worked at a private company and had gone to work on Friday afternoon. He told investigators that Tanisha had called him while he was at work, but he could not answer. When he later returned the call, she did not respond.After repeated calls went unanswered, Sharma asked their neighbour, Anuj, to check on her, police said. Anuj allegedly spotted Tanisha hanging from the ceiling fan through the window.Tanisha’s family was informed and later submitted a written complaint accusing Sharma of murdering her and hanging her body, police said.A senior police officer said the body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem examination conducted by a board of doctors.“Further action will be taken based on the family’s complaint and the post-mortem report. We are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter,” the officer said.
