Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has released the provisional answer key for Class 12 Science students even before the declaration of results. Based on identified errors in certain question papers, the board has decided to award the grace marks.According to the provisional answer key, students from the Gujarati and English mediums will receive a total of 4 grace marks, while Hindi medium students will be awarded 3 marks. These marks have been granted due to mistakes found in the physics and chemistry question papers. No discrepancies were reported in the mathematics and biology papers.The Class 12 science exams were conducted between Feb 26 and March 16. Following the completion of exams, the evaluation process is currently underway. Meanwhile, the board has published provisional answer keys for all four core subjects — physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology — in Gujarati, English, and Hindi mediums.In chemistry, errors were identified in one question each in the Gujarati- and Hindi-medium papers, leading to one mark being awarded to students of these mediums. In the English-medium paper, two questions were found incorrect, resulting in two grace marks. In physics, Gujarati-medium students will receive three marks, while English- and Hindi-medium students will be awarded two marks each.The board has also invited objections from students regarding the provisional answer key. Candidates can submit their representations by email until April 4. A fee of Rs 500 per question must be paid while submitting objections, along with proof of payment. If the objection is found valid after expert review, the fee will be refunded.After reviewing all objections, the board will release the final answer key, which will be used to prepare the results.
