Ahmedabad: A fire broke out in a warehouse located behind a television channel office near Iskcon temple on SG Highway on Thursday, triggering a major firefighting operation.Eight fire tenders rushed to the spot after the control room received an alert. The blaze started in a godown where wheelchairs were modified into small vehicles, a process involving fabrication work.A senior fire officer said around 40 fire personnel were deployed to control the flames. Thick smoke engulfed the premises, prompting teams to carry out ventilation measures to clear the area. No injuries were reported in the incident.Preliminary findings suggested the fire may have been caused by ongoing fabrication work inside the warehouse. The unit reportedly operated from the location for the past five years. Fire officials said cooling operations continued for some time to prevent any flare-up. Further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause.
