Mysuru district has secured 94.5% results during this year’s SSLC results

Mysuru: With the record pass percentage in SSLC results, admissions to the PU education have increased in state-run govt PU colleges as well as aided PU colleges this year in Mysuru district. This academic year 2026-27, about 12,703 students have enrolled, which was 9,852 students last year, with an increase of nearly 3,000 students this year for the first-year PU education.Mysuru district has secured 94.5% results during this year’s SSLC results. A large number of students also cleared SSLC exams successfully, in supplementary exams. The record pass percentage in SSLC exams has been attributed to increase in enrolment for PU education in govt-aided and private colleges.Improvement of basic facilities in govt schools, free education to girls students, quality education, introduction of online coaching for CET, NEET exams for govt school students also contributed to the increase in enrolment in govt schools.The district has 82 govt PU colleges, 31 aided PU colleges, 161 private PU colleges. The district has also improved its PU results, recording 84% results this year against 73% last year.Last year, a total of 17,706 students enrolled for PU in Mysuru district. For the academic year 2026-27, a total of 21,110 enrolled in the district so far. The admissions for first-year PUC students increased to 8,001 students against 6,501 last year, in govt-aided PU colleges.The admissions in govt PU college of Kuvempunagar increased to 575 students against 505 last year, said principal, Gubbigudu Ramesh.Speaking to TOI, deputy director of school education, literacy PU education MP Nagamma said various factors, including free education to girls, record pass percentage in SSLC, online coaching for CET, NEET for govt school students, all contributed to the increase in enrolment in govt PU colleges.Students can enrol for their first-year PUC till the end of July.
