Madikeri: Political parties-Congress and BJP-in Kodagu district say they are running awareness drives during the special intensive revision (SIR) to ensure all eligible voters are included in the electoral rolls.Congress district president Teethira Dharmaja Uthappa said MLAs Manthar Gowda and AS Ponnanna have been appointed as booth level agents (BLAs), and additional BLAs have been appointed for every booth in Madikeri and Virajpet constituencies. He said workshops have been held for these agents, who are visiting houses along with Election Commission-appointed booth level officers (BLOs) to help eligible voters get enrolled. He added that voter preferences may change, but inclusion in the voter list is a right and the process must be carried out through official staff, with party appointees supporting awareness.BJP district president Napanda Ravi Kalappa said the party has appointed BLAs BB Bharatish (Madikeri) and Robin Devaiah (Virajpet), along with BLAs for all 572 booths in the district, and has conducted training workshops. He said the focus is on ensuring every eligible Kodagu citizen is included while preventing ineligible names from being added.
