Noida: An 18-year-old domestic staffer was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her employer’s four-storey house in Sector 51 on Saturday evening, with her family alleging that she was murdered and police suspecting suicide. The girl, who had been working at the house for six months, was found on the fourth floor when her employer went to call her for work.Police said the woman, a Bihar resident, was found around 5.40pm with a scarf around her neck. Her younger sister, who also worked at the same house, was on the third floor when the incident occurred.After the employer — a local businessman — found her, police were alerted through emergency helpline 112. A team from Sector 49 police station, accompanied by forensic personnel, reached the house and brought the body down.A senior officer said the woman’s family alleged foul play. “No injury marks, apart from ligature marks, were found on the body,” the officer said.A case under Section 108 of BNS, relating to abetment of suicide, was registered at Sector 49 police station following the family’s allegation. “As the family alleged foul play, the case was registered and an autopsy conducted on Sunday,” said Ram Prasad Sharma, SHO of Sector 49 police station.Manisha Singh, ADCP, Noida, said forensic examination had also been conducted and reports were awaited. “There are no injury marks on the body,” she added.The family took the body to Bihar for the last rites after autopsy. Police said no complaint had been filed by the family so far.
