Prayagraj: With scores of Kanwariyas moving to Kashi Vishwanath to offer jalabhishek to Lord Shiv on the occasion of second Somvar during the ongoing Shrawan month after taking holy water from Ganga, cops on Sunday intensified patrolling and vigil on Dashashwamedh ghat and Jhunsi- Handia route to ensure safety and security of kanwariyas.Additional police forces were deployed at all 22 static locations including Dashashwamedh ghat and mobile police teams were engaged to clear the route. Senior police and administrative officials also reviewed the arrangements. Senior police officials also reviewed security arrangements at all prominent Lord Shiv temples in the city anticipating heavy rush of devotees on the occasion of second Monday on August 10.Additional police pickets including women cops have been deployed in and around temple campus. Apart from a network of CCTV sets, cops have also carried out barricading for crowd management including separate entry and exit routes.The strength of kanwariyas is increasing and the devotees of Lord Shiv are walking barefoot on the route with great excitement and enthusiasm.
