Times News NetworkKanpur: District magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh on Monday inspected Chainpurwa, village located in the Kateri area of Sadar Tehsil in view of the rainfall and reviewed the preparations to deal with the Ganga’s water level and possible waterlogging. Village head Ravi Nishad said that this year no situation of waterlogging has arisen in the village and the current situation is completely normal.Along with taking information about the Ganga’s water level, the district magistrate obtained information regarding the availability of boatmen, the condition of boats, and other necessary facilities to be used in relief and rescue operations if required. He directed the officials concerned to keep all necessary resources ready and to regularly monitor the situation.He said that at present the water level of Ganga is safe and is below the warning point and the danger mark. At present, there is no cause for concern of any kind, but in view of the rainfall, there is a need to maintain complete alertness. He directed that immediate effective action be ensured if the water level rises or a situation of waterlogging arises.Joint magistrate/sub divisional magistrate (Sadar) Anubhav Singh and Tehsildar (Sadar) Vinay Kumar Dwivedi were present on the occasion.
