New Delhi: Police have registered a case after a dead lizard was found in a mid-day meal container delivered by an NGO at the govt Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya co-ed school in West Delhi’s Hari Nagar Friday.According to police, the school, located in the L-block, usually gets its mid-day meals delivered by NGOs. On the day of the incident, the NGO had reportedly delivered the food in a vehicle around 9 am, after which the administration and staff took possession of it to hand over the packages to the children. The batch of food was reportedly meant for consumption in the upper primary wing.A police officer familiar with the incident said, “The dead lizard was first spotted by the person incharge of handing over the packages to students, who raised an alarm.” Upon noticing the lizard, the Hari Nagar police station was alerted by the school authorities.An FIR was registered in connection with the incident. Police said that no arrests have been made yet and the NGO officials have been questioned to ascertain the sequence of events that led to the animal in the food.
