Mysuru: Supporters of senior Congress MLA Tanveer Sait, who is also KPCC working president, continued their protest in the city demanding a ministerial berth for their leader. Around 2,000 supporters gathered at the Manipal Hospital Junction on the Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway and staged a protest in support of Sait on Sunday. The protest was seen as a show of strength by Sait’s supporters, who sought to put pressure on the Congress leadership to induct him into the state cabinet. The protesters said they were disappointed over Sait being denied a ministerial position despite his experience as a senior leader.“It is unfair that an experienced leader like Sait has not been given a ministerial berth. We are holding this protest to bring the issue to the govt’s attention and demand that he be made a minister,” the supporters said.Former corporators, presidents of various frontal organisations, party functionaries, office bearers, supporters and followers of Sait took part in the protest.
