Chikkamagaluru: A total of 97,207 voters will be dropped from the draft electoral rolls in Chikkamagaluru district as they have been marked as ASDDO – Absent, Shifted, Deceased, Duplicate and others during the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR).Of those identified, 25,907 voters have died, while 48,572 have permanently shifted out of the district.A total of 11,141 voters had duplicate or multiple entries at more than one place while 11,182 were absent during the verification process, and 529 were removed for other reasons.Chikkamagaluru district has 9,60,231 voters across five assembly constituencies. During SIR, 97k voters were marked as ASDDO.89.8% digitisation complete: DCAccording to deputy commissioner Bhanwar Singh Meena, 8,62,900 enumeration forms out of the 9,60,231 distributed have been digitised, achieving 89.8% digitisation.A probable list of deletions — including absent, migrated, deceased and duplicate voters — was printed and publicised again on Aug 6. The lists are available on the district election officer’s website and the chief electoral officer’s website.Copies have been handed over to BLOs and BLAs, and shared with all recognised political parties. A district-level meeting was also held with party representatives. The lists have been sent to district presidents of recognised parties. Voters who still have enumeration forms must submit them to BLOs, the DC added.25 new polling stations proposed: As part of delimitation, the district has proposed 25 new polling stations to the chief electoral officer. Of these, 22 stations are proposed where voter strength exceeds 1,200, and three stations where voters have to travel more than 2 km to reach existing booths.
