More than 20 trucks and five buses had to stay for a long time due to the blockage

Chikkamagaluru: The state highway 106 was blocked for nearly 12 hours as a truck driver abandoned the vehicle, which was struck midway, near Kalasa.A heavy truck carrying milk powder stopped midway due to technical reasons, but the driver and the cleaner locked the vehicle and fled the spot at 4pm on Friday. However, the vehicle was removed from the road using an excavator only around Saturday noon.More than 20 trucks and five buses had to stay for a long time due to the blockage as the vehicle was parked right in the middle of the road.According to the police, the truck bearing the registration number of Telangana state was travelling to Calicut. Now the truck has been shifted to Kudremukh police station.The driver and the cleaner left the truck locked to bring fuel but did not return. “We contacted the owner and the manager of the transport company reached the spot. Now, the police will register an FIR against the owner and the driver,” said a police officer.
