Prayagraj: A criminal, carrying a cash reward of Rs 25,000, was injured and arrested by a team of Manjhanpur police in Kaushambi district during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.Police said that the injured criminal was an active member of an inter-state cattle smuggling gang who used to sell stolen cattle to a slaughter house in Unnao district. They used to sell a stolen buffalow at a cost of Rs 30,000 to slaughter house.Cops said Manjhanpur police received a tip-off about members of an inter-district gang involved in cattle theft planning to execute a crime near Edilpur canal road.As the police team was conducting search and checking near Edilpur nahar pulia road, the criminal opened fire on the police party. Cops responded, resulting in the injury of the criminal identified as Sahil alias Guddu, a resident of Karari.As many as 10 criminal cases are pending against him in different police stations.The police recovered one country-made pistol of 0.315 along with one used and one live cartridge, and Rs 3,310 cash near the spot.
