Kanpur: The body of a man was found lying in a field along the banks of the Pandu river in Panki area on Monday night.On being alerted, the police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. The body was sent for post-mortem examination. The family members alleged it to be a murder.The deceased, identified as Vikas alias Vijesh Rajput alias Danny, 21, was a resident of Baduwa village and worked in tin shed construction. His elder brothers Bablu and Raju were married and lived separately, while he lived with Thanni.ACP Panki Amit Chaurasia, along with officers from the local police station and a forensic team, conducted an investigation. The family has raised suspicions of foul play.The ACP said that a thorough investigation is underway and CCTV footage is being reviewed. Clarity on the situation will only emerge following the post-mortem report. However, no formal written complaint has been filed by the family members yet.
