Times News NetworkKanpur: Divisional Commissioner Vijayendra Pandian on Monday warned that the executing agencies failing to complete projects within the stipulated time frame would face blacklisting. He issued the warning while reviewing development works and ongoing projects worth over Rs 50 lakh across the Kanpur division.During the review meeting, the commissioner directed the officials to ensure that all ongoing projects are completed on time while maintaining quality standards. He also stressed the need for effective inter-departmental coordination to avoid delays in project execution.Pandian announced that a ‘Khau Gali’ (food street) would be developed in every district of the division under the ‘One District, One Dish’ (ODOC) initiative. These food streets will showcase traditional dishes of the respective districts along with ODOC food products from neighbouring districts.He also instructed the officials to submit proposals for suitable land in all districts for the establishment of the Sant Kabir Textile Park.Reviewing monsoon preparedness, the commissioner directed the officials to ensure timely cleaning of all major drains, maintain a ready list of boatmen and divers for flood-prone areas, and complete livestock vaccination on schedule.While assessing preparations for the massive plantation drive scheduled for July, Pandian instructed the officials to complete all arrangements in time and ensure adequate protection of saplings after plantation. A target of planting 2,98,75,500 saplings has been set across the six districts of the Kanpur division this year. Among them, Etawah has been assigned the highest target of 60,68,600 saplings, followed by Kanpur Dehat with 56,92,100 saplings.He further directed the officials to promote plantation drives along both banks of rivers under the river rejuvenation campaign.During the review of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, the commissioner expressed dissatisfaction over the poor performance of Kanpur Dehat district.
