Bengaluru: Chaos prevailed at the regional passport office in Koramangala Monday morning when unidentified persons sent an email stating that portions of the building would be blown up in a bomb attack. Applicants seeking new passports or renewals were sent out for around 30 minutes as police, accompanied by the bomb disposal squad, scanned the premises.The search operation was first carried out at the passport issuance and renewal wings. “Applicants were asked to re-enter the premises and continue with their work. Then we proceeded to other parts of the building. The search, which began around 11am, ended by 1.30pm, and it was a hoax call,” an investigating officer said. Police said the email originated from Tamil Nadu.
