Bengaluru: Police rescued four women and two men after the doors of a lift got jammed in Siddanna Layout’s four-floor residential complex in Banashankari late Sunday night.Trouble began around 11pm when the lift crashed down to the ground floor and its doors got jammed. The occupants had got on the lift on the fourth floor. “The lift has the capacity to carry six people, and we were travelling down. However, it suddenly came to a halt, stopping around a foot above the ground. To add to our woes, the doors got jammed,” one of the women occupants told TOI.They called police, who alerted staff from Hoysala 148. Assistant sub-inspector KH Gowda and head constable Manjunath used an iron rod to open the lift doors slightly. They called a technician and the lift was repaired in 20 minutes. All the occupants were safe, Gowda said.
