Gandhinagar: The Congress party said on Monday that 553 minors who were reported missing from the state in the past two years were still to be traced. Congress MLAs sought information on this during question hour in the assembly.Providing a compilation of figures provided by the govt for missing women and children, the Congress said that 67 women and 6,240 minors were reported missing from various districts in the past two years. The party said that, as of Dec 31, 2025, there were no women who were still not traced, but 553 minors remained to be traced.
During question hour, the question of missing women and children in Junagadh and Gir Somnath districts came up for discussion, to which MoS Law and Justice Kaushik Vekariya provided answers. Congress MLA Shailesh Parmar sought a discussion on missing women and children across the state. Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi said that while this discussion was outside the scope of the question, the govt was willing to discuss the subject if another question was raised before the assembly.
