Ahmedabad: Timely intervention by personnel of the 112 Jan Rakshak PCR van saved a man from attempting suicide on railway tracks near Kalupur railway station. According to officials, a PCR van team was stationed at Kalupur Circle at 1.55pm on Monday when they received a message about a man on the railway tracks.“Upon reaching the spot, the team found that a man aged around 32 was standing on the railway tracks with the intention of ending his life. The 112 Jan Rakshak personnel intervened and prevented him from taking the extreme step. The team counselled the man and safely escorted him away from the railway tracks,” read a release by 108 Emergency Management and Research Institute (EMRI).Officials associated with the case said the man’s wife had informed the control room about his intentions after he left home following a fight over family issues. “The man was counselled and later reunited with his family,” an official said.
