Patna: An average of 438 people were arrested every day in ‘dry’ Bihar during June on charges of manufacturing, storing, transporting, selling or consuming liquor.According to figures released by the state’s prohibition and excise department on Tuesday, 13,166 people were arrested under the anti-liquor campaign between June 1 and June 30.“During this period, a total of 1,22,275 raids were conducted, as a result of which 11,339 cases under different sections of the anti-prohibition law were registered and 13,166 people were arrested. During the campaign, a total of 7,30,472 litres of illicit liquor was seized. In addition, 969 vehicles were also seized. The seized vehicles include 724 two-wheelers, 65 three-wheelers, 158 four-wheelers and 22 trucks,” a communiqué issued by the department said.
