Kanpur: Jalaun police and the SWAT surveillance team conducted a joint encounter operation on Saturday in which three persons accused of assaulting and robbing a man on July 7 were arrested.Jalaun additional superintendent of police, IPS, Dr Ishan Soni and Konch CO Parmeshwar Prasad, in a press-conference said that the action was taken after receiving the complaint from the victim on July 10, 2026.The victim, in a written complaint to Ait police station on July 10, said that he was cornered by three-four individuals in a four-wheeler on July 7 while he was going on his bike.He said that the accused assaulted him and fled after robbing his phone, motorcycle, and Rs 8,000 cash.Police started the investigation, and with technical assistance from the SWAT surveillance team, arrested the three men during a checking campaign on Saturday.The accused have been identified as Vivek (20), Vinay (22), and Shakir (20) all residents of Jhansi.Police recovered a looted bike, Rs 4,500, one illegal country-made pistol, two live cartridges, and the Baleno car from the possession of the accused.
