Prayagraj: In a tragic incident, three siblings drowned in a pond near Sahlipur Kanjas village under the limits of Kandhai police station in Pratapgarh district on Monday afternoon. Joint teams of police and swimmers fished out the bodies and sent them for post-mortem.DSP (Patti) Manoj Kumar Singh said three children of Vijay Yadav — a daughter, 11, and two sons, aged 8 and 7 — went to swim in a local pond on Monday afternoon. The children entered a deep-water zone and began drowning. Locals near the pond raised an alarm, but it was too late. A joint team of police and swimmers pulled the three out and rushed them to a nearby CHC, where doctors declared them dead.“The kids went into the deep-water zone and drowned. Sensing trouble, other locals standing near the pond raised an alarm, but it was too late,” said the DSP.
