Prayagraj: Passengers planning to travel via Prayagraj Junction in the coming days should take note of major changes in train operations. The North Central Railway (NCR), Prayagraj Junction, has commenced the Phase-1 of its yard remodelling work, leading to significant disruptions in regular train services. As part of the changes, the Vande Bharat Express bound for Gorakhpur will operate from Prayag station instead of Prayagraj Junction from Monday, and the change will be effective till April 30. The routes of 35 other trains arriving at the junction have also been altered, with most of them now being operated via Prayagraj Chheoki station. The remodelling work is being undertaken as part of the broader redevelopment of Prayagraj Junction. Due to the renovation work, several major trains, including Varanasi–Pune, Ahmedabad–Darbhanga, Gorakhpur–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, and Raxaul–Lokmanya Tilak services, will be diverted through Prayagraj Chheoki instead. To reduce congestion at the station, the railway authorities have also decided to short-terminate some trains at nearby stations. The Prayagraj–New Delhi and Prayagraj–Anand Vihar Terminal Humsafar Express trains will originate and terminate at Subedarganj station between April 24 and April 30, instead of Prayagraj Junction.Similarly, the Chopan–Prayagraj Express will run only up to Prayagraj Chheoki station from Monday to May 25. The Muzaffarpur–Prayagraj Bapudham Express will be restricted to Varanasi station on April 27 and April 29. The Kalindi Express will operate up to Subedarganj on April 29, while the Subedarganj–Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya MEMU service will run only up to Chheoki on April 30.Railway authorities have urged passengers to check the latest status and route of their trains through the National Train Enquiry System (NTES) or the official helpline before planning the journey to avoid inconvenience.
