Imphal: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel seized approximately 4.80 kg of suspected heroin from the baggage of two passengers at Imphal airport on Friday afternoon.Official sources said the seizure was made at 3.42pm during random X-ray screening of luggage at the airport. Both the passengers hail from Madhya Pradesh.

The two passengers were scheduled to travel from Imphal to Guwahati on Air India Express flight when CISF personnel detected suspicious contents in their baggage.Upon inspection, CISF personnel recovered the suspected heroin powder concealed inside the luggage. The duo were immediately detained for questioning.The passengers carrying the suspected contraband were identified as Suresh (31), son of Kanhaiyalal Prajapat, and Vijay Singh (27), son of Rajendra Singh.Following the seizure, CISF handed over the accused, along with the seized item, to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Imphal, for further investigation and legal proceedings.
