“We used to have information through which corridors these groups used to go,” he said, taking part in a discussion on the functioning of the police department.“Govt should have inputs on how many boys have gone for training to again allow budding of new militant groups,” the former CM said.He told the House that recently at Songsak in the Garo Hills, a woman had told him that they had seen quite a number of men with sophisticated arms moving around.Sangma said for that reason his then govt had created the SF –10, which was specially trained to deal with a situation that was then confronting the state and subsequently benefitted from it.“Now these personnel are seen controlling traffic,” he said, adding that the time and resources invested on their training need to be taken into account, even as he voiced that the govt was not looking at their requirements.“Police departments can provide jobs on a large scale by creating more battalions and deploy them in places where they are in demand and salaries will be paid by the state or Govt of India,” he said.
