Police said the contraband was being transported from Sambalpur in Odisha to Harihurganj, a border area of Palamu adjoining Bihar

Daltonganj: Police seized 121 kg of cannabis from a car on NH-39 and arrested two persons during a late-night vehicle-checking drive near Satbarwa, Palamu SP Kapil Chaudhary said on Wednesday.Acting on a tip-off, the suspicious vehicle was intercepted around 12:05 am and the contraband worth around Rs 60 lakh recovered, police said.The accused were identified as Sanoj Yadav, 25, the car’s driver, and Shambhu Yadav, 30, who operates a bank customer service point. Both are residents of Jhaber village under Satbarwa police station limits. Police said the cannabis was being transported from Sambalpur in Odisha to Harihurganj, a border area of Palamu adjoining Bihar.Two Odisha registration number plates were also recovered from the vehicle, suggesting that the smugglers planned to change its identity to evade detection.
