T’puram: Poojappura police on Thursday arrested an interstate theft accused in connection with the burglary at railway officials’ quarters in Poojappura, where gold ornaments worth around 10 lakh were allegedly stolen from the residence of a railway engineer from Kottarakkara.The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammed Parvesh Nadir Ali, a native of Kolkata.According to police, the accused trespassed into the residential quarters located within the railway officials compound and carried out the theft. During the probe, officers found that he was allegedly involved in multiple theft cases registered in Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.Police said Ali primarily targeted residential quarters occupied by govt employees and officials in different states. He is suspected to have followed a similar pattern in Poojappura theft case as well.Ali was reportedly nabbed from Kollam while travelling by train from Thrissur.Police said further legal proceedings against the accused are under way. tnn
