Times News NetworkKanpur: Fire department personnel rescued a youth who fell into a 60-ft deep well filled with toxic gas in Rahatpur village in Sadar Kotwali area of Auraiya. Fireman Gajendra Singh played a major role in the rescue operation and pulled the youth out of the deep well.The incident took place on Saturday when Raju, son of Mahesh Chandra, suddenly fell into a village well in Rahatpur village. After villagers alerted officials, the Chief Fire Officer reached the spot along with fire brigade personnel. The well was about 50 to 60 feet deep and gas had accumulated inside it.The team sprayed water into the well through a fire tender, which reduced the effect of the gas. After the gas effect lessened, fireman Gajendra Singh descended into the deep, dark well with the help of safety equipment. He located the youth trapped amid debris and water and, with the help of other fire personnel, brought him out.Chief Fire Officer Tejveer Singh said that the youth was rescued safely. He was admitted to the CHC for primary treatment and, according to doctors, his condition is out of danger.People present at the spot praised the bravery of fireman Gajendra Singh and expressed gratitude to the entire team.
