Urban development minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah inspects the flyover project near Manipal Hospital junction in Mysuru on Tuesday

Mysuru: Urban development minister Yatindra Siddaramaiah on Tuesday inspected the ongoing flyover construction works near Nanjangud Road and the Manipal Hospital Junction in Mysuru and directed officials to ensure that the project is completed to high-quality standards within the stipulated timeframe.During the inspection, the minister reviewed the project’s progress and held detailed discussions with officials on various aspects of the construction, including execution, quality control and adherence to the project schedule. He emphasised that the flyover is a key infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic congestion in the city and should be completed without compromising on quality.Yatindra Siddaramaiah instructed officials to closely monitor the work at every stage and ensure strict compliance with engineering standards. He also stressed the importance of maintaining safety measures at the construction site to prevent accidents and safeguard both workers and commuters.The minister further directed officials to implement an effective traffic management plan during the construction period to minimise inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians. Appropriate precautionary measures should be taken to ensure smooth vehicular movement and reduce disruptions, he said. DC G Lakshmikanth Reddy, senior officials of the urban development department, engineers and representatives of the executing agency were present during the inspection.
