Ahmedabad: Doctors at UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Civil Hospital performed a surgery on a patient to remove tumour thrombus affecting the kidney and the heart. The operation on the 50-year-old woman lasted eight hours. Tumour thrombus is a collection of cancer cells extending directly into a blood vessel. The cancer tumour in the kidney extended up to the heart’s right atrium. She is a patient of renal cell carcinoma.
