Times News NetworkKanpur: A speeding dumper traveling from Mati towards the Akbarpur overbridge, hit a woman who was opening her eatery-shop during early hours of Monday. The victim suffered serious injuries and succumbed at the spot. The driver fled after the accident.The deceased, Anju (45) was a resident of Tigai village within the jurisdiction of the Rura police station. She operated a ‘dhaba’ adjacent to Lokpriya Hospital in Akbarpur.On Monday morning, at approximately 4:50am, Anju was cleaning her ‘dhaba’ when the accident occurred. Upon receiving information from a passerby, the police arrived at the scene, notified the woman’s family about the incident, and arranged for the body to be sent for post-mortem. Akbarpur station house officer Harmeet Singh stated that efforts are underway to locate the driver who fled after the incident.
