Kanpur: A divisional level one-day poultry conclave was organised at Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology on Monday.Leading entrepreneurs, experts, and representatives from major pharmaceutical companies associated with the poultry industry along with farmers and officials from the animal husbandry department held discussions on modern poultry farming, increasing production, and the industry’s prospects. The conclave was inaugurated by UP cabinet minister Rakesh Kumar Sachan.Addressing the conclave, the minister said that the state govt is continuously striving to make poultry farming a potent means of generating employment and increasing income. While providing information about the various schemes, grants, and subsidies administered by the department, he urged a large number of youths and farmers to come forward and participate in this sector.Experts from the animal husbandry department, representatives of the poultry industry, and specialists from pharmaceutical companies provided detailed information on the prevention of major poultry diseases, use of advanced medicines and vaccines, quality feed supplements, and modern management techniques. Experts stated that farmers can achieve higher production at a lower cost by adopting scientific methods.Vice-chancellor of the university, the CDO, the joint development commissioner of Kanpur; the additional director (Grade-1, Poultry), Lucknow; chief veterinary officers and veterinary officers from all the districts of the division; poultry entrepreneurs; and progressive farmers as well as trainees aspiring to establish self-employment in the poultry sector took part in the conclave.
