Prayagraj: A 30-year-old woman identified as Akhtroon Nishra, a resident of Sangipur was arrested by Pratapgarh police on Monday on the charges of attacking and assaulting police team.The accused woman allegedly attacked policemen with an axe when they were carrying out routine checking at village Bhaisana on Sunday night.Police said that a team of Sangipur police was conducting routine checking and frisking at village Bhiasana road and detained a suspicious man for verification. When this man created ruckus, his family members including women rushed the spot and manhandled policemen. Two policemen were injured and their uniforms were torn in the incident. Following the incident, an FIR under relevant section was registered with Sangipur police station against eight named and 25 others. However, police on Monday managed to arrest the woman who led the unruly mob and seized an axe which was brought to attack policemen at the time of incident. Teams are formed to ensure the arrest of absconding culprits.
