Kanpur: A 38-year-old woman was found dead at her home in Barra 8 late Saturday following an alleged dispute with her husband.The deceased, identified as Ruchi Tiwari, a resident of Pratapgarh, lived with her husband, Shanu Tiwari, and their two children.According to police, neighbours reported that Ruchi had a dispute with Shanu on Saturday night. When they checked on the family, she was found unconscious, while her husband was nowhere to be seen.On receiving information, police arrived at the scene and rushed the woman to Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.During the investigation, a scarf fashioned into a noose was found in the room, raising suspicion that she may have been strangled to death. Police said Shanu allegedly fled the scene with the couple’s two children.DCP South Deependra Nath Chaudhary said the investigation was exploring both murder and suicide angles. Further legal action is being taken, and efforts are underway to trace the accused and the children, police said.
