Kanpur: A woman and her two daughters beat up a scientist with shoes and slippers in the city on Saturday, alleging that he made videos of her daughters and pressured her to stop pursuing a civil case pending in a civil court.The incident took place at Ghatampur tehsil, where the woman reached with her daughters for a hearing in a land dispute. Santosh Kureel, a scientist posted in the forensic department, also reached the tehsil to help his associates. Police arrived at the spot, brought both parties to the police station and interrogated them. A video of the entire incident also surfaced.The woman, who lives in the Ghatampur police station area, said, “My husband is a Group-D employee in the Railways, and is currently posted in Bhopal. We have a civil case going on in the civil court regarding land with a person named Kailash. On Saturday, I came to the court for a hearing with my two daughters. During this time, Santosh Kumar Kureel, a senior scientist of the forensic department, posted in Jhansi, arrived there to help Kailash. He started making videos of my daughters”.She said that when she objected to the video recording, Santosh started abusing her and slapped her. After this, the woman and her daughters beat up Santosh with shoes and slippers. Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and took both parties to the police station.She said that when the police personnel were taking Santosh to the police station, he tried to intimidate them by claiming to be an additional SP.At the police station, inspector Dinesh Singh Bisht asked Santosh about his posting. He initially claimed for some time that he was posted in Kannauj. However, when the inspector questioned and asked him to show his credentials, he said that he is a senior scientist in the forensic department in Jhansi. After this, his real identity was revealed.The woman said, “On the pretext of helping in the land matter, Santosh raped me for nearly two years. One day, he along with his associates Kailash and Avdhesh also gangraped me”.She said a case was also registered at the Ghatampur police station in the matter. First, her medical examination was conducted, after which the blood sample was sent to the forensic lab in Lucknow for DNA testing. The woman alleged that during the investigation, the envelope containing the sample was found open, the DNA report was tampered with and a final report (FR) was filed in the case.The woman also alleged that Santosh continuously pressured her not to pursue the case.Inspector Dinesh Singh Bisht said that information about an assault was received. The person concerned had come to the tehsil day to file a complaint and at that time he was also showing videos of the daughters. He said the entire matter is being investigated and further action will be taken based on the complaint.
