Varanasi: A 26-year-old woman has lodged a named FIR against her husband and parents-in-law, alleging that they tried to force her into flesh trade and made obscene videos of her to blackmail her. Police arrested her husband on Sunday.Manduadih police station in charge Digambar Upadhyaya said that, based on the woman’s complaint, an FIR was lodged against her husband Vishnu Prajapati, father-in-law Rameshi and mother-in-law under Section 67A of the IT Act and Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(2) (criminal intimidation) and 85 (cruelty by husband or relatives) of the BNS.In her complaint, the woman said she had married Vishnu eight years ago and they have two daughters. She alleged that her husband was unemployed and addicted to liquor and frequently assaulted her. She also accused him of subjecting her to unnatural sex.The complainant said her in-laws supported her husband and joined in harassing her. She alleged that all three pressured her to enter prostitution, claiming it would bring in more money. When she resisted, she was beaten.She further alleged that during one such incident, her husband forced himself on her and recorded an obscene video. The accused later allegedly used the clip to threaten her, saying it would be sent to her parents and relatives and circulated if she refused their demand.The woman told police that on Aug 29, she left for her parental home in West Bengal with her two daughters. After that, the accused allegedly sent the video to her family members’ mobile phones and threatened to make it viral. She said she feared the accused could drive her and her children to suicide by circulating the video.
