Patna: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has revised toll tax rates for all categories of vehicles at various plazas, following which vehicles passing through the Didarganj toll plaza on NH-30 (Patna-Bakhtiyarpur) will have to pay higher charges from the new financial year 2026-27.As per the revised rate from April 1, the toll rates are set to rise by approximately 3.7% to 7.5%, said toll manager Prabhakar Singh.The Didarganj toll plaza handles around 13,000 vehicles daily.For light vehicles such as cars, jeeps and vans, the one-way toll will increase from Rs135 to Rs140. Those opting for a 24-hour return pass will now pay Rs215 instead of the previous Rs200. Monthly pass holders will see their fee rise from Rs4,475 to Rs4,730. Light commercial vehicles will also experience a similar adjustment, with one-way fares moving from Rs205 to Rs215, while the 24-hour passes climb to Rs325 and monthly passes to Rs7,220.Buses and trucks, which previously paid Rs410 for a single journey, will now be charged Rs435. Their 24-hour pass option has been raised to Rs650. Vehicles classified as heavy machinery with three to six axles will pay Rs655 one-way, up from Rs620, with the 24-hour pass increasing to Rs985. For very heavy vehicles having more than seven axles, the one-way toll will go up from Rs815 to Rs860.Govt vehicles, army vehicles, ambulances, hearse vehicles, police vehicles and postal department vehicles have been exempted from toll tax.Facilities like 24-hour ambulance service, crane for removing accident vehicles, drinking water, public toilets and first aid are available for the travellers at Didarganj toll plaza.
