A week after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) called off its Jantar Mantar protest over exam reforms, the political impact of the movement continues to unfold. While the government has passed a tougher anti-paper leak law and announced a panel to recommend examination reforms, the protests appear to have also brought several Opposition parties closer together in Parliament. From the DMK and NCP to the Congress and other Opposition parties, leaders have stepped up their attacks on the government over examination reforms, the Vande Mataram Bill and the police crackdown on student protesters.
