Mangaluru: A 66-year-old man died on Friday after an arecanut tree fell on him amidst heavy rain and strong winds while working at an areca plantation in Deraje, Kunthoor village, Kadaba taluk.The deceased has been identified as Yadava Gowda, a resident of Kevala in Kunthoor. Three co-workers managed an unhurt escape after hearing the tree crack and running to safety just before it collapsed. Following the incident, Kadaba Tahsildar Ganesh G. Savanoor visited the scene.
