KANPUR: As soon as Shalu was released from jail, she told the media that her husband had wrongly framed her in the murder case and said she endured mental and physical suffering during 21 days in jail.“I had been saying from the beginning that I did nothing. I am innocent. The truth is in front of everyone. Today, that has been proved. I do not know why Subrat made allegations against me. I was in jail for 21 days. I have endured a great deal of suffering. How I spent each day.”Shalu said she could not understand why her husband had implicated her in the murder. She said she missed her son most while in jail. “I would now like to go straight to him.”Vineet Minocha (60) was stabbed to death after intruders entered his home at the posh Ratan Orbit apartment in Kalyanpur in early Sept 2026.Police initially investigated Shalu, Subrat and the family’s former domestic help Vishal. A money dispute and call records had emerged during the investigation.Shalu, jailed in connection with the murder of Kanpur medicine trader Vineet Minocha, was released late on Monday after a court ordered her immediate release, holding that she had no role in her father-in-law’s killing.The court directed Shalu to appear whenever summoned by it or the investigating officer. Police released her after completing the necessary formalities.Police had initially named Shalu as an accused but later found her innocent and submitted a closure report in court on Friday. Her brother, Dheeraj Arora, said the same police who had sent her to jail subsequently cleared her after investigation.Dheeraj said Shalu would travel directly to her maternal home in Lucknow rather than return to her in-laws’ flat at Ratan Orbit in Kanpur. Her son Shrijay is staying with the family in Lucknow.Minocha, who lived in flat C-104 at Ratan Orbit in Indira Nagar, was murdered on Sept 5 after being stabbed 17 times.Police arrested his son Subrat on Sept 24 on charges of murdering him. Subrat told the media that his father had relationships with several women, because of which his mother Puneeta lived separately.According to Subrat, he feared a woman might claim she was expecting Vineet’s child. He allegedly engaged his former servant Vishal Gautam and Vishal’s associate Rajkishore to kill his father.
