T’puram: Kerala Water Authority (KWA) announced a 24-hour disruption in water supply to several parts of the city due to emergency cleaning works at Vellayani Water Treatment Plant, which comes under Vandithadam water works section.The water supply will remain suspended from 6am on Tuesday, until 6am on Wednesday.Areas affected include the panchayats of Kalliyoor, Venganoor and Pallichal, as well as Vizhinjam Harbour, Kovalam, Vellar, Punchakkari, Poonkulam, Venganoor, Kottappuram and Thiruvallam wards of corporation and nearby localities.KWA advised consumers in the affected areas to store sufficient water and make necessary arrangements in advance to avoid inconvenience during the disruption.For further information, consumers may contact KWA at 0471-2384852 or the toll-free helpline 1916.
