Von Miller trade update: After George Pickens and AJ Brown, another top-tier player has sparked trade rumors just before the 2026 draft. It is Von Miller. However, April 1 is a difficult day to confirm anything, and the former Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders linebacker’s case is no different.

Did Von Miller sign with the Raiders?

On Wednesday, Miller suggested he was headed to the Las Vegas Raiders. Unlike most April Fools jokes circulating online, this one carried a hint of plausibility. The veteran is currently a free agent and still productive, having recorded nine sacks last season, even if his 11.9 percent pressure rate hinted at decline. For a Raiders defense looking to complement Maxx Crosby, the idea didn’t seem far-fetched.

Las Vegas, after all, remains in need of pass-rushing depth. Pairing Miller in a rotational role alongside Crosby and Malcolm Koonce could make football sense.

Still, context matters. April 1 has become a minefield for NFL coverage, where even logical moves can turn out to be nothing more than well-timed jokes. Earlier in the day, Dion Dawkins teased a move to the Miami Dolphins, another claim that fans quickly dismissed as part of the prank cycle.

Tom Brady, Maxx Crosby linked

Miller, meanwhile, tagged Maxx Crosby and Tom Brady to his post. He captioned it: “Sin City let’s get crazy!”

Von Miller has previously spoken about his choice of franchise. Reflecting on his time with the Commanders, he spoke openly about his desire to remain with the team following last season. “I’m a loyal guy. I would love to stay with the Washington Commanders,” Miller said. “I fell in love with my teammates there. I love the way they run the organization. Adam Peters is great, Coach Quinn is great. I would love to be a Washington Commander.”

At the same time, Miller addressed rumors and hypothetical scenarios involving other AFC West teams, particularly the Las Vegas Raiders. While some fans may have briefly entertained the idea, Miller suggested such a move would come with significant personal consequences.

“If I’m going to go to the AFC West, it’s got to be the Denver Broncos,” Miller said. “Like what? Me playing the Denver Broncos twice a year? I don’t think it’s nothing that I can do to really take away from my legacy that I’ve already done with the Denver Broncos, but that: Going to the Raiders… That’s really the only thing that could make the Denver Broncos fanbase, Broncos Country, not love me no more.”
