Ahmedabad: The primary education department has resumed the approval process for opening new private primary schools and increasing classes in existing schools for the academic year starting June 2026.A notification had been issued on Dec 4, 2025, but due to a lack of timely applications from schools, the department decided to provide another opportunity to apply. Now, institutions can submit online applications between April 8 and April 15. The office of the director of primary education has made it mandatory for trusts, societies, and companies to apply online for starting new primary schools or for adding classes from standards 1 to 5 or standards 6 to 8. The process will be conducted digitally to ensure transparency and faster processing. The department has stated that no applications will be accepted after the deadline. Detailed guidelines regarding the application process, required documents, and other instructions will be made available on the official portal on April 4. Schools have been advised to keep all necessary documents ready in advance.
