Ahmedabad: Parents of Hiren Kantariya, a resident of Bhavnagar, consented to organ donation after he was declared brain-dead by experts at Civil Hospital on March 30. He was admitted after a severe head injury in a road traffic accident on March 28.Civil Hospital officials said that the parents were informed about his state, after which they consented to organ retrieval. The doctors retrieved a liver and two kidneys. The organs will be transplanted within the Civil Hospital campus, said officials.Officials added that on Tuesday, the new building of Ren Basera for the relatives of the patients was virtually inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi during his visit to the state.
