Prayagraj: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) is set to launch a major recruitment drive for over 1,500 posts across several departments, with the process for appointing assistant professors in medical colleges expected to begin next month.According to officials, the state medical education department has informed the commission about 1,154 vacant posts of assistant professors, and preparations are underway to issue the advertisement.Apart from this, the commission has also received a requisition for the recruitment of 111 assistant engineers (AEs) under the engineering services cadre and more than 40 vacancies under the agriculture services category.Recruitment for 174 livestock development officers is expected to begin later this month. Advertisements are also likely to be issued soon for 65 professor posts in homeopathy, 7 in Unani and 28 in Ayurveda departments.The commission has also been informed about 80 vacancies for review officer (RO) and assistant review officer (ARO) posts.Importantly, officials have said the upcoming RO/ARO recruitment exercise is expected to be much larger, with nearly 550 vacancies likely to be advertised. A major share of these vacancies is expected to be for the post of assistant review officer (ARO), one of the most sought-after positions among govt job aspirants in the state.In addition, advertisements for 25 sports officer positions in the sports directorate and 43 scientific officer posts in the police department are expected shortly.Meanwhile, UPPSC has invited applications for 37 vacancies under three different recruitment examinations. These include 14 posts of architect assistant, 11 posts of property manager and 12 posts of microbiologist.Candidates can submit their applications and examination fees online until Sept 3, while corrections in application forms and fee reconciliation can be completed by Sept 10.Officials said applicants should be at least 21 and not more than 40 years of age as of July 1. The commission is expected to release detailed advertisements and exam schedules in the coming weeks.
